About me
Ed Walker is a community redevelopment investor based in Roanoke and Danville, Virginia. His work explores collaborative approaches to strengthen community at the confluence of real estate, social enterprise, and the interdisciplinary methods required for communities to create positive transformation.
He attended Episcopal High School in Alexandria, Virginia, the University of St. Andrews in Scotland, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and Washington & Lee University School of Law.
Edbegan his real estate redevelopment career in the early 2000s working on the Grandin Theatre revitalization project. Thereafter, he founded numerous for-profit and nonprofit organizations and projects. His current redevelopment work focuses on Salem, Danville, and Roanoke. Riverdale is a historic 125 acre, 1 million square foot former American Viscose site in southeast Roanoke City.
He has held fellowship appointments at Harvard’s Center for Public Leadership and Graduate School of Design, served on numerous boards of directors, and taught for seven years at Washington & Lee’s School of Law. He’s received numerous awards and commendations including Roanoke City’s Citizen of the Year.
